Idris Elba Hit Series ‘Luther’ Headed To Big SCREEN!

Idris Elba and series Neil Cross will continue to be in the ‘Luther‘ business, at least for a few more years with their latest announcement. After airing a high profile third season, talks of an upcoming big screen venture for the UK detective seems to be more than just gossip, as Neil let news leak stating:

“I’ve written the script and we hope to get the film made next year,” said Cross. “Idris is a brilliant leading man and we’ve hoped to turn Luther into a movie for a long time. It will follow his career in the earlier days, when he is still married to Zoe, and the final scene in the film is the first of the initial TV series.”

Tried and true fans will be ecstatic to hear that the film will be based upon the debut novel ‘The Calling’ which stated the relationships, and how Luther rose to become the iconic character we know as well…Luther.

There’s no locked shooting dates for the film yet, and Idris Elba is one of the busiest actors in show-business at the moment, but we all know Mr. Elba will make time to portray his favorite broken detective.
