FAUX SOCIETY Pick of the week: “The Darkest Hour”

What do you get when you mix traveling Americans, Hot Russian girls, and VODKA? According to this movie a pretty badass alien invasion.  The Darkest Hour is the story of five people who must survive during the wake of an alien invasion. Sound familiar?….It is, but what this movie does where others fall short is rely on inventiveness, and good plot twists.

The alien! It’s this energy orb that sucks people up and turns them, and their fresh ass gear into ashes. The effects are pretty cool, no matter how many times you see someone get “ASHED!” as I like to call it. Rent the movie, just know going into it, that it’s JUST ENTERTAINMENT. Enjoy the ride, and know that the filmmakers we’re trying to win Oscar’s, they were trying to tell you a story about an alien invasion in RUSSIA!
