We spoke of this business deal between search engine Yahoo in talks to purchase micro blogging site Tumblr, well the acquisition is complete as of yesterday. Yahoo CEO Marissa Meyer took to Twitter to inform the world of the power move Yahoo had just completed.

The founder of Tumblr , 26-year-old tech genius David Karp is expected to stay in his current role as chief executive. With the neew purchase expect some new and some ‘same’ porn will still be allowed on Tumblr servers, Yahoo will most certainly look to monetize this baby behemoth, so anticipate ads on your tumblr dashboard soon. For the most part though Tumblr and Yahoo will be run as completey different entities accourding to reports. What are your thoughts on this business move? Good or bad for Yahoo?
