Sunday night, White Arrows stepped onto the stage (at the Casbah in San Diego) and immediately went into full effect with the drum heavy “Roll Heavy”, and as I turned around to survey the crowd, people were literally backing up, because they were completely “blown away” by the music. It was a very-cool-moment. When the song ended, lead singer Mickey Church slurs into the mic, “Hi, we’re White Arrows”, and that was the moment that the crowd went wild. A few songs later into the set, the Arrows jumped into the bounce heavy, “Get Gone” from their upcoming album Dry Land Is Not A Myth. It’s a cheerful song, with HUGE potential to break mainstream, and be featured in commercials, movie trailers, and the like. The White Arrows made people who weren’t aware, take notice, and those fans who knew what was in store for them, were not disappointed, they got what they came for, great music! Everyone ‘who came to the Casbah’, had one-helluva-time with White Arrows.

An extra treat at the show was the opening act, MMOTHS all the way from Dublin, Ireland who was on the fifth stop of his North American tour. He played an understated set with just a laptop, and an interactive beat pad. I didn’t know the music, but I felt it, vibed with it, and the crowd bounced with it too.
Here’s a track MMOTHS released in honor of his tour, here is Folding:
