Light-heavyweight champion successfully defended his title for the fourth consecutive time after submitting challenger Vitor Belfort in the fourth round in Toronto at UFC152. In the first round Vitor almost ended the fight qucikly after Belfort locked on an armbar and appeared to have Jones’ arm hyper-extended.
“He got that armbar in every way, shape and form,” Jones told broadcaster Joe Rogan after the fight. “I’ve never had my arm pop like that before, but I’ve worked too hard to give up…I was honestly waiting for it to break. I wasn’t going to tap. I’ve never felt that way before.”

Jones was able to pull through the lock, and put Belfort on the bottom punishing him with elbow to the face after elbow. After all of the strikes and the first round ended he opened a deep gash over Belfort’s right eye. Vitor’s momentum for the rest of the fight slowed down until the fourth round tappage, forced by Jones.
Also as co-headliner on the card a bout between flyweights Joseph Benavidez and Demetrius Johnson to crown the first EVER UFC flyweight champion. Both fighters brawled going the distance over a 5 round match. Johnson was sold as the faster opponent in the UFC and probably the fastest fighter PERIOD in the whole organization, that statement was proven to be true as Johnson ducked, dodged, and sides stepped a power punch having Benavidez. In the fourth round a scare came to Johnson as he was dropped by Benavidez with a huge right hand. Johnson was however able to fend off the strikes and submission attempts by Joseph. The final round with a fresh and barely winded Johnson as he landed two takedowns and furthering avoiding Benavidez’s random combos to capture a split decision winner over Joseph!
