The DEA made 90 arrests, after President Obama last month banned the sale, production, and possession of synthetic drugs known as bath salts, in a nationwide “synthetic drug takedown”. The Feds seized $36 million in cash and 19 million packets of synthetic drugs, including bath salts (a powder hallucinogen) and spice (also known as fake marijuana), the agency said. The DEA/Immigration and Customs Enforcement collabo, along with several federal, state, and local law enforcement in the project which held the moniker “Operation Log Jam,” disrupting the illegal industry from manufacturers to retailers. The largest number of arrests were in Albuquerque, but most of the drug activity was in Tampa, Fl.
