After twelve rounds of a thrilling battle between Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto, Floyd Money Mayweather was, once again, unanimously victorious. It was truly a test, and one of Mayweather’s hardest fights to date. Cotto won rounds 6-7-8 giving nail-biting Mayweather fans something to be nervous about for a little bit. Mayweather won the other NINE rounds. Cotto came out of the gate strong, driving the rhythm of the first 6 rounds, any aggressive executions he tried on Mayweather were either missed, or did little to no damage.
The most important moment of Cotto’s fight, had to be round 8 where Cotto rocked Mayweather with a solid punch, and re-opened a cut from two rounds prior. Mayweather, being the true champ that he is, bounced back, outworked, outhought and outfought current Champ Miguel Cotto. At the end of the evening, Floyd, once again, left the ring with yet another belt.
Mayweather wins: Judges Dave Moretti and Patricia Morse Jarman both had it 117-111 and Robert Hoyle 118-110. All for Mayweather.
