Jay-Z has been confirmed by publisher 2K Sports as being named the executive producer of pro hoops simulation NBA 2K13. The premier hip-hop mogul will oversee the game’s soundtrack and control the overall creative look of the game. Jay-Z said in a statement that “This has been a unique opportunity to collaborate with 2K Sports and be a part of one of the best sports video games in history.” Jay-Z has compiled a 24-song soundtrack for the game, featuring artists like Too Short, Daft Punk, Coldplay and Jigga himself, but he has retains total autonomy regarding the aesthetics of the game. Jason Argent, vice-president of marketing for 2K Sports states that “it’s literally the entire look, feel and creative presentation of the game” and that “as soon as you pop that game into the console, you see Jay’s influence right away”. NBA 2K13 will launch Oct. 2 for Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and your PC.
