Chicago State Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. Plea Deal

Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. is staring at jail time, as well as the demise of his 17-year career in Congress representing Chicago’s South Side and surrounding suburbs, due to accusations of improper campaign contribution use. Jackson, has reportedly misappropriated his campaign donations for his personal use, which includes decorating his home in Washington, D.C. His plea deal with the feds is currently being worked out by veteran white-collar criminal defense attorney Dan Webb. According to CBS Chicago, his deal will include:  Jackson resigning for health reasons, his pleading guilty to charges involving misuse of campaign funds, in addition, the congressman’s repayment of any contributions that were converted to personal use, such as home furnishings, improper travel or gifts. Some jail time if inevitable, it appears, for Jackson.
