Yesterday we reported rumors that around that Alexander Wang would be replacing designer Nicolas Ghesquière as Balenciaga’s new creative director. Today the rumors have officially been confirmed. New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn made an announcement yesterday, but many were skeptical due to the previous unfounded rumors about various different designers.

At just 28-years-old, Wang has become famous worldwide for his androgynous, cutting-edge designs for his eponymous label, but this raises the question as to what direction the designer will take at Balenciaga and how he will manage to juggle both roles.
