Harvard University is expected to approve a student club, called the Harvard College Munch, which is a club devoted to BDSM, (Bondage and Discipline, Sadism and Masochism), on Friday. If given approval by the Committee on Human Life, Munch will be allowed to host and promote gatherings on campus and apply for food grants from the Drug and Alcohol Peer Advisors organization, and can encourage recruitment through public announcements. If approved, the group will now have “institutional support” to provide reassurance to their members, stated the founder of Munch who is known only as ‘Michael’ (not his real name). ‘Michael’ also said that “if you come to campus and you have the sexual interests we represent, you may not even suspect that such a group exists, our recognition shows we are being taken seriously.”
