‘Dear White People’ a phenomenal film campaign I’ve watched since it’s Kickstarter campaign which blasted off rewriting the definition of ‘viral’ raising awareness of the film and funds to help shot the film. It premiered at Sundance this year to rave reviews and a Special Jury Prize award for excellence for filmmakers Justin Simien and producer Lena Waithe‘s part. The film follows the stories of four black students at an Ivy League college where a riot breaks out over a popular ‘African American’ themed party thrown by white students. With tongue planted firmly in cheek, the feature explores racial identity in ‘post-racial’ America while weaving a universal story of forging one’s unique path in the world. Stream the final trailer below, and catch it in theaters on October 17th!
