We Saw ‘This Is The End’ But Is It Worth $10? [REVIEW.]

1170481 - The End Of The WorldWhile everyone this weekend will be flocking to see Superman break the sound barrier via flight, DO NOT sleep on the hilarious comedy THIS IS THE END. This the brain child of Seth Rogen, along with his writing partner Evan Goldberg and Jay Baruchel. This Is The End sees James Franco’s house warming party ending in the apocalypse of the world, and party-goers Rogen, Baruchel, Jonah HillCraig RobinsonDanny McBride, and James Franco must band together to survive the Rapture.

What makes this funny is that every actor and cameo who shows up for their five minutes or more, all leave their egos at the door and play heightened versions of who you think they are, and it TOTALLY WORKS. As you would’ve thought, it being a Seth Rogen picture, it is filled to the brim with dick jokes, references and even a 3 minute argument about ‘cum’. During the duration I thought Michael Cera had the best spoof of himself until you see Channing Tatum (OH LAWD!) is all I can say without spoiling it.

The real star of this picture is hands down Craig Robinson who slowly but surely steals some of the best scenes from all the guys with just a look. (*The severed head scene) for example, the scene was funny when it happened, but Craig’s reaction to the head was priceless, I couldn’t breathe in the theater. For what it’s worth, the film is a lot better than it has any right to be. So far in 2013 it’s my favorite picture that’s come out, and simply for the pure fact of how fun and original it is. It turns every concept on it’s head and splits your sides at the same time.

The verdict is, SEE THIS IN THEATERS.

Below is the original short film from which this new feature is based upon.
