When a CIA-operated safe house is targeted by a group of bad guys, the facility’s house-sitter is tasked with the dangerous job of moving the criminal who is being hidden there to another secure location. That is the premise for Universal’s hit film starring Denzel Washington & Ryan Reynolds. This white-knuckle action flick will have you on the end of your seat questioning what would you do in this cluster of a situation.
Denzel churns out a solid performance as the anti-hero in this film, where everyone is in the “GREY” there are no GOOD guys or bad guys. Just perspectives. Safe House is largely a character study, focusing on the two leads more than anyone else. The action scenes, and storyline are pretty solid, though it does begin to drag around the third act, but the ending pay off is well worth the movie.
