Sasha Baron Cohen EXITS Queen Biopic After ‘Creative Differences’

The Queen biopic has been a long gestating project in Hollywood with Sasha Baron Cohen attached to the iconic lead singer, Freddie Mercury in the upcoming film set at Sony Pictures. UPDATE: Sasha Baron Cohen has left the Freddie Mercury biopic project after creative differences with Queen.  There have been incongruences with the band’s creativity and that of project developer’s concept. The development of the project film has gone through rigorous updates with potentially directors David Fincher and Tom Hooper showing interests, but ultimately being turned down by Queen themselves. Queen wants to go more in a PG direction, as Sasha expressed his interest in portraying a tell-all hard R film, you can only imagine where the creative difference only slightly began, as a result, Sacha exited.
