Beasts of the Southern Wild [MOVIE REVIEW.]

It happens every year during Oscar season. You see all the movies nominated for best film, or best director, best actor, etc. Bet you a million bucks there’s 2 or 3 nominated titles that you’ve never heard of. Beasts of the Southern Wild is definitely on track to being one of those films. Directed by Benh Zeitlin, Beasts of the Southern Wild is easily one of the best films we at Faux Society have seen this year.

Set in the ‘Bathtub’, an unaccounted-for mass of swampland in the Gulf of Mexico, Beasts of the Southern Wild is an amazing escape from life as you know it. The movie reminds everyone that life is hard, but only the strong survive.

Our favorite line… “There’s no time to sit around crying like a bunch of pussies!” Words spoken from the fearless six-year-old female protagonist Hushpuppy after her entire community has been flooded by a huge storm.

We don’t want to give much away about the plot of movie, but challenge you to just go to find out where this movie is playing and check it out.
