Former Penn Sate assistant coach Jerry Sandusky appeared in court for sentencing today, after being found guilty of 45 counts of sexual child abuse months ago. Judge John Cleland could have sentenced Sandusky to 400 years, but after pronouncing 30 – 60 years for Sandusky, the judge stated that this sentence “has the unmistakeable impact of saying the rest of your life.” Sandusky had been rumored to speak at his sentencing, but instead, on yesterday, a three and a half minute recorded rant was released on local Penn State Radio, in which he blamed the first victim who went to the police in 2008, and spoke of a conspiracy that he attributed to everyone from “the media, investigators, the system, Penn State, psychologists, and other accusers.”. Three of his victims either spoke or had messages read for them at the sentencing, with one victim saying “I want you to know that I don’t forgive you and I don’t know that I will ever forgive you.”
