12 Killed @ The Dark Knight Rises Midnight Show

A gunman in a gas mask, now identified as 24-year-year old James Holmes, bought a ticket to a  Denver-area theater during a midnight screening of the new Batman movie Dark Knight Rises, threw a gas canister and began to open fire by stalking up and down the aisles firing as many as four weapons at theater-goers, killing 12 people and injuring at least 50. Federal law enforcement sources told ABC News that Holmes bought a ticket to the movie, slipped out of the theater once the movie began and propped open the emergency exit before gathering his weapons and gear and coming back into the theater. Once inside the shooting began. Holmes was captured by police in the parking lot while still wearing a bullet-proof vest, riot helmet and gas mask, according to police.
