The House of Vuitton Adds Dash of Phelps

In Louis Vuitton’s latest ad campaign, shot by famous photographer Annie Leibovitz, and titled “Core Values,” Michael Phelps appears sitting in a bathtub wearing black Speedos with goggles atop his forehead. The famous French fashion house pegged Olympic gold medalist Phelps for the ads after his conquering a record 22 medals between Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic games. In an additional ad, Phelps appears with Larisa Latynina (aged 77) and former Soviet gymnast who as an Olympic champion won an impressive 18 medals between 1956 and 1964. Her record total of 18 medals was held for 48 years until surpassed by Michael Phelps on July 31, 2012. Although Phelps broke her total medal count record, her record for individual event medals (14) still stands.
