Al-Qaeda Double Agent.

American officials said on today, that the supposed bomber who had been plotting to blow up an American airliner with an underwear bomb, was said to be  a double agent.  The al-Qaeda terrorist group was infiltrated and the agent gathered highly sensitive information on its operations, including the innovative bomb and its designs, delivering all of the intelligence to the CIA.

He reportedly spent weeks in Yemen at an outpost of al-Qaeda, and was responsible for giving the US the information it needed to kill Fahd Mohammed Ahmed al-Quso, one of the suspects in the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole. Allegedly, he handed the bomb to top explosives experts and the FBI to have it analyzed about its design. The operatives identity, or his place of origin was revealed by officials.
