This weekend saw many things popping, whether it was Miley Cyrus on stage with Juicy J, popping her A$$. Guns popping at 2 Chainz as his car was fired upon in San Francisco. Also box office numbers were popping for new horror hit ‘THE PURGE’ scroll below.
2 Chainz did NOT get robbed at gunpoint, but he does give San Francisco marijuana really, really high grades … this according to the rapper himself. San Francisco PD says 2 Chainz got jacked yesterday when someone fired shots in a crowd that included the rapper and his entourage.
The official told MTV News that 2 Chainz and five members of his entourage were approached by three men, one of whom had a handgun, and fired a shot on the 800 block of Howard Street in San Francisco. The suspects fled after the incident. Police confirmed that no one was injured, but that “Mr. Epps is listed as a victim of a stolen wallet containing credit cards, U.S. currency and a cell phone.”
Miley Cyrus twerked on stage & the world is a better place for it.
While watching Juicy J’s performance on June 8 with Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose allegedly pushed her on stage at the House of Blues in Los Angeles where he was performing. As she hopped up on stage, Miley began twerking it to Juicy J’s “Bandz A Make Her Dance.”
The suspense thriller “The Purge” topped the weekend box office with a shocking $36.4 million that doubled industry expectations, according to studio estimates Sunday.
Audiences starved for a horror option flocked to the micro-budget Universal film starring Ethan Hawke. The film’s strong opening performance minted another box-office hit for “Paranormal Activity” producer Jason Blum.
Like that horror franchise, “The Purge” was made for relative peanuts — just $3 million — making it an extremely lucrative release for Universal. The studio had expected it to open in the high teens.
“Never did we expect it to open at this level,” said Nikki Rocco, head of distribution for Universal. “This result could not have been forecasted by anybody.”
That was the weekend in a nutshell…
